Statlite

Small server, small monitoring. Statlite watches your applications and their host with a single binary that idles at about 15 MiB, so the observer never becomes the heaviest thing on the box. Point it at a Spring Boot Actuator endpoint and it polls health plus a fixed, curated set of Micrometer metrics: request traffic, latency, CPU, and runtime memory, all drawn as clean charts. Quarkus, Micronaut, and anything else that can answer a fixed JSON metrics profile can join the same dashboard. History lives in one local SQLite file, raw samples only, kept for 90 days by default, so yesterday's latency spike is still there when you go looking. The dashboard also watches the host itself: processor load, memory pressure, and filesystem capacity, including a warning before the metrics database fills its own disk. Restart detection tells you when an application bounced, and per-target Basic Auth support lets you poll protected Actuator endpoints safely. Configuration is one YAML file listing your targets and polling interval, friendly to systemd and Docker alike. Everything is deliberately scoped: no alert manager, no external service, no observability platform to operate. Just open the page and see whether your apps are healthy. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

Benefits

  • One Binary, Fifteen Megabytes Idle
  • A single Go binary with local SQLite storage replaces the Prometheus plus Grafana stack for small deployments, idling around 15 MiB so monitoring fits comfortably on the smallest virtual private servers.
  • Ninety Days Of Local History
  • Raw metric samples stay in one SQLite file for 90 days by default, with no external monitoring service involved, so investigating last week's slowdown does not depend on a third-party platform.
  • Apps And Host Together
  • Application health, traffic, latency, and memory sit beside host CPU, memory, and filesystem capacity in one dashboard, making it obvious whether the app or the machine is struggling.
  • Deliberately Small, Honestly Scoped
  • A fixed set of supported collectors for Spring Boot Actuator and a simple JSON metrics profile keeps configuration to one YAML file, with no dashboards to design or queries to learn.

Features

  • Spring Boot Actuator Polling
  • Polls Actuator health and Micrometer metrics, preferring Prometheus/OpenMetrics exposition when available and falling back to Actuator JSON, with optional Basic Auth per target.
  • Fixed JSON Metrics Profile
  • Any application that answers the language-neutral statlite-metrics/v1 JSON profile can be monitored, so Quarkus, Micronaut, and custom services share the Spring dashboard.
  • Raw SQLite Sample History
  • Stores raw samples only, with no rollups or downsampling, computes counter deltas at query time, and prunes history past the configurable retention window automatically.
  • Host Self-Monitoring Included
  • A self-monitoring target reports host CPU, memory, and filesystem capacity, including the SQLite database's own disk, so the watcher watches itself as well.
  • Restart And Health Detection
  • Tracks application health independently from metrics collection and detects restarts, so a bounced service shows up clearly instead of hiding inside a flat green chart.
