Kula
Kula watches a Linux server every second and turns CPU, memory, disks, network, containers, and applications into a live dashboard you can open before trouble becomes downtime. Follow total and per-core CPU, load averages, memory and swap pressure, disk I/O, filesystem space, temperatures, GPU load, and network throughput as charts update live in the browser. Drag to zoom into history, switch to focus or TV mode for a wall display, and check the System Info page when you need the hardware story behind a spike. Watch Docker, Podman, and cgroup containers beside host metrics, then add PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB, nginx, and Apache monitoring or define custom metrics for the odd service only your team understands. Scrape the Prometheus endpoint into an existing observability stack, open the terminal UI over SSH for a quick live read, or ask the optional local Ollama assistant to discuss charts without sending data to a cloud service. Protect the dashboard with optional Argon2id logins and multiple users, schedule storage snapshots, and keep the whole tool working on closed networks with no external calls. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- One Binary, No Database
- Upload a single dependency-free binary and start monitoring in seconds, with built-in tiered ring-buffer storage replacing the external database, agent fleet, and cleanup jobs smaller servers do not need.
- Second-By-Second Host Visibility
- Sample CPU, memory, swap, load, disks, network, processes, thermals, batteries, and system state every second, then inspect live charts or stored history at one-second, one-minute, and five-minute resolutions.
- Containers And Applications Included
- Monitor Docker, Podman, and raw cgroups together with PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB, nginx, and Apache, plus custom metrics for services that expose numbers in your own format.
- Private By Architecture
- Keep monitoring on closed or air-gapped networks with no cloud APIs, tracking, registration, or external calls, while optional local Ollama analysis keeps AI questions about metrics on your machine.
Features
- Real-Time Web Dashboard
- View WebSocket-powered live charts and SVG gauges with drag zoom, history ranges, focus and TV modes, per-device selectors, grid or list layouts, and light or dark themes.
- Tiered Ring-Buffer Storage
- Store raw one-second samples plus one-minute and five-minute rollups in fixed-size files with predictable disk usage, scheduled snapshots, and no separate time-series database to operate.
- Application Monitoring
- Collect metrics for PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB, nginx, and Apache alongside containers, and define custom metrics when a local service needs first-class dashboard visibility.
- Prometheus Exporter Endpoint
- Scrape Kula metrics into Prometheus and Grafana style stacks when a server already belongs to a larger observability system and needs one more lightweight data source.
- Terminal UI And AI
- Use the fast terminal dashboard over SSH for stored-history charts, or enable the optional Ollama-powered assistant for multi-session chats and per-chart analysis that runs locally.
