AutoXpose

Tag a Docker container with two labels, and AutoXpose turns it into a published service with a DNS record, a reverse proxy route, and HTTPS, without you opening a single provider dashboard. From the web dashboard you connect one of six DNS providers, Cloudflare, Netlify, DigitalOcean, Porkbun, Aliyun, or Tencent DNSPod, and point it at the Nginx Proxy Manager or Caddy instance you already run. It watches your containers continuously after that: a new label creates the record, propagation is verified before the service shows as live, and removing the container removes its public entries too. Auto-expose mode publishes containers the moment they appear, while manual mode stages them in the dashboard for approval first. Color-coded service tags sort what you run into web, database, and media groups at a glance, and dashboard warnings flag misconfigurations before they become broken links. Nginx Proxy Manager access lists attach by label, so an admin panel stays reachable only from the networks you trust. When containers vanish, orphaned cleanup hunts down the stale DNS records and proxy hosts they left behind. Settings and state live inside the same single container, so the publishing pipeline for a homelab or a small fleet stays one compose service you can back up as a unit. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

Benefits

  • Labels Replace Manual DNS Toil
  • Adding two labels to a container replaces dashboard trips to your DNS provider and proxy admin, so publishing a new service takes seconds instead of a checklist of error-prone manual steps.
  • Six DNS Providers Supported
  • Connect Cloudflare, Netlify, DigitalOcean, Porkbun, Aliyun, or Tencent DNSPod once in Settings, and every labeled container gets its record created, verified, and removed automatically when the container goes away.
  • NPM Or Caddy, Your Choice
  • Works with the reverse proxy you already run: Nginx Proxy Manager hosts or Caddy routes are configured through their APIs, with HTTPS certificates and NPM access lists handled for you.
  • Nothing Exposed By Accident
  • Manual mode stages discovered services in the dashboard until you approve them, access lists restrict sensitive tools, and orphaned cleanup removes records for containers that no longer exist anywhere.

Features

  • Label-Driven Discovery
  • Watches the Docker socket for autoxpose labels, detecting new containers, port changes, and removals so exposure stays in sync with what is actually running.
  • DNS Record Automation
  • Creates and removes records at Cloudflare, Netlify, DigitalOcean, Porkbun, Aliyun, or Tencent DNSPod, then verifies propagation before reporting a service as published.
  • Proxy And SSL Setup
  • Configures Nginx Proxy Manager hosts or Caddy routes with automatic HTTPS detection and certificate handling, including optional NPM access lists for restricted services.
  • Auto-Expose Mode
  • Setting autoxpose.enable=auto publishes a container the moment it is discovered, while manual mode stages services in the dashboard for review before exposure.
  • Orphan Cleanup
  • Detects DNS records and proxy hosts whose containers have disappeared and removes the stale entries, keeping public exposure matched to running services.
