Karma

When an alert fires on any of your Prometheus Alertmanagers, Karma shows it once, on one filterable dashboard, and lets you acknowledge or silence it from there. Identical alerts from different servers merge into one entry tagged with every server that saw it, HA pairs included. Groups follow the group_by settings of your Alertmanager routes, and shared labels and annotations collapse into a footer. Multi-grid mode gives each value of a label, or each Alertmanager, cluster, or receiver, its own grid, keeping production and staging apart. Configurable label colors make hosts and severities easy to spot. Optional history draws 24 hourly blocks per group from the Prometheus servers that fired it, and an inhibited alert's muted button lists whatever is suppressing it. One click acknowledges an alert with a short-lived silence, and the separate kthxbye daemon can keep extending it until the alert resolves. The silence modal creates, edits, and expires silences, and ticket IDs in comments can become links. A Dead Man's Switch check raises a visible error when the alerting pipeline goes quiet. Basic auth or a proxy's header identifies each user, silence ACLs stop one team from silencing another's alerts, and read-only mode disables silence management. Default filters open the view your team triages first, and light and dark themes follow the browser. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. Apache-2.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • One Dashboard For Every Alertmanager
  • Karma queries any number of Alertmanager servers in parallel, merges identical alerts into one entry, and tags each with every server that saw it, so HA pairs stop showing duplicates.
  • Acknowledge And Silence In Clicks
  • One button creates a short-lived acknowledgement silence, pairs with kthxbye to last until alerts resolve, and the silence modal creates, edits, and expires every silence Alertmanager holds.
  • Context Before You Escalate
  • Group footers collect shared labels, inhibited alerts list what suppresses them, and an optional 24-hour history strip shows how often a group fired, so responders judge severity before paging anyone.
  • Share Safely Without Losing Control
  • Read-only mode disables silence controls, basic or header-based sign-in identifies users, and ACL rules restrict silences by user or group, while Karma itself never alters alerts in Alertmanager.

Features

  • Multi-Alertmanager Aggregation
  • Polls any number of Alertmanager servers in parallel over HTTP or HTTPS, with TLS client certificates, custom headers, SOCKS5 proxies, and shared cluster names for HA pairs.
  • Label-Based Multi-Grid
  • Splits alert groups into one grid per value of any label, or per @alertmanager, @cluster, or @receiver, with sorting by label and custom value mappings.
  • Silence Management And ACLs
  • Create, edit, and expire silences through the UI, optionally proxied by the Karma backend, with ACL rules by user or group and ticket links detected in silence comments.
  • Alert History From Prometheus
  • Queries the Prometheus servers that sent each alert for hourly trigger counts over the last 24 hours, drawn as 24 shaded blocks, when history is enabled.
  • Dead Man's Switch Checks
  • Healthcheck filters watch for an always-firing alert on each Alertmanager and show an error in the UI when it disappears, exposing a silent alerting pipeline.
  • Single Binary Or Container
  • A Go binary or the ghcr.io/prymitive/karma image, configured through YAML, flags, or environment variables, with /health for probes and /metrics for process metrics.
