DBackup

When a bad migration or disk failure strikes at 3 AM, DBackup guarantees that your PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQL Server, Redis, Valkey, SQLite, and Firebird databases, along with the application directories that belong to them, are encrypted, verified, and ready to restore in a few clicks. Connect directly over TCP or tunnel through SSH with zero agents installed on your target servers. Bundle database dumps and Docker volumes or remote SFTP directories into a single atomic job so your schema and uploaded assets always share the exact same recovery point. Every archive is compressed with Brotli or GZIP, sealed with AES-256-GCM encryption before leaving the host, and pushed simultaneously to up to 14 storage backends including Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Hetzner, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SMB, and WebDAV. Reusable Grandfather-Father-Son retention policies prune daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly snapshots automatically. Need to inspect live tables or recover a single file? Use the built-in Database Explorer, remap a dump into a staging schema, or extract individual files over HTTP byte ranges without downloading the entire archive. Even if your backup server goes offline, the downloadable Recovery Kit decrypts standard SQL dumps and plain TAR archives using a standalone script. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. GPL-3.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • Agentless Multi-Database and File Protection
  • Connects directly or over SSH tunnels to 10 database engines and remote file directories without installing background agents on production hosts, packaging SQL dumps and application folders into unified recovery points.
  • Open Format With Offline Recovery Kit
  • Writes standard SQL or BSON dumps and plain TAR archives encrypted with AES-256-GCM, providing a zero-dependency Node.js Recovery Kit so administrators can decrypt and restore backups even if DBackup is offline.
  • Multi-Destination Redundancy and Checksum Scans
  • Uploads every encrypted backup to multiple cloud and local storage targets simultaneously, verifying SHA-256 or MD5 checksums immediately after upload and running scheduled integrity scans to detect silent bitrot or missing runs.
  • Selective Byte-Range and Remapped Restores
  • Streams individual databases or single files out of seekable remote archives using HTTP byte-range requests and restores dumps under new database names for safe staging verification without downloading multi-gigabyte archives.

Features

  • Ten Database Engine Adapters
  • Automates scheduled dumps and guided or direct restores for PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Redis, Valkey, SQLite, and Firebird over TCP or SSH.
  • Fourteen Storage Backends
  • Pushes backups and reads directory sources across Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Hetzner, MinIO, Wasabi, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SFTP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV, SMB, rsync over SSH, and Docker volumes.
  • AES-256-GCM Encryption and Vault
  • Secures archives with AES-256-GCM encryption profiles, automated key rotation, Brotli or GZIP stream compression, and a centralized Credential Vault for SSH keys, OAuth tokens, and database passwords.
  • GFS Retention and Calendar
  • Enforces reusable Grandfather-Father-Son retention templates across daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tiers while visualizing completed, partial, and failed backup chains on an interactive dashboard calendar.
  • Built-In Live Database Explorer
  • Browses live database schemas, table rows, and version histories directly in the web interface with server-side pagination and full-text search across supported SQL and NoSQL engines.
  • Nine Alert Channels and OIDC
  • Dispatches job completion and storage spike alerts via Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Gotify, ntfy, Twilio SMS, SMTP email, and webhooks, with OIDC single sign-on, passkeys, and RBAC groups.
