Cronstable

Cronstable gives scheduled jobs what cron never had: retries when they fail, alerts when retries run out, a saved history of every run, and a dashboard to watch it all. Bring your existing crontab or define jobs in YAML, down to business-day schedules, hashed fleet spreading, and per-job time zones, then let failures retry with backoff while alerts head to email, Slack-compatible webhooks, Sentry, or an encrypted push to your phone. Every run is remembered, so history, live logs, and incident timelines answer what happened last Tuesday instead of shrugging. When jobs grow dependencies, they become durable workflows: task graphs with data sharing, dynamic fan-out, sensors, shared resource pools, and approval gates a human taps before the next step runs, with failed tasks replayed selectively instead of starting over. One machine or a whole fleet looks the same from the web dashboard, the terminal, or iOS, and a schedule linter quietly warns you about the job that can never run and the one daylight saving will skip. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

Benefits

  • Failures Stop Being Silent
  • Retries with exponential backoff, your choice of what counts as failure, and alerts through email, webhooks, Sentry, or encrypted phone push end the era of dead cron jobs discovered by accident.
  • Every Run Leaves a Record
  • Saved history, live logs, incident timelines, and schedule introspection explain what ran, what did not, and exactly why, field by field, from the scheduler's own match test.
  • Workflows With Human Gates
  • Durable task graphs share data, fan out dynamically, wait on sensors, and pause at approval gates, with selective replay that reuses successful results instead of rerunning everything.
  • One Machine or a Fleet
  • The same YAML runs a lone server or a cluster, with hashed schedules spreading load, resource pools capping capacity, and web, terminal, and iOS dashboards watching all of it.

Features

  • Scheduling Without Traps
  • YAML or classic crontab definitions support second-level runs, business days, hashed spreading, time zones, iCal export, and linting that catches impossible or daylight-saving-broken schedules.
  • Retries and Verification
  • Failed runs retry with backoff, output can be verified before success counts, and late or overrun jobs are flagged overdue in every dashboard.
  • DAG Workflows
  • Tasks run as directed graphs with dependencies, dynamic fan-out, sensors, shared resource pools with priority queues, and approval gates between steps.
  • Durable State
  • Opt-in persistence keeps run history and pending retries across restarts, catches up missed runs, and gives commands shared storage, locks, and idempotency keys.
  • Dashboards and API
  • Web, terminal, and iOS dashboards follow live logs and fleet health, while the HTTP API reads status and starts, cancels, or pauses jobs remotely.
  • Status Badges
  • Each job exposes a live SVG status badge for READMEs and wikis, so a backup's health is visible wherever the project documents itself.
