TraceRoot

An agent run can finish without errors and still give the wrong answer, so TraceRoot traces every model and tool call, flags the production runs that missed the mark, and helps your coding agent ship verified fixes. Each run becomes a browsable call tree with inputs, outputs, latency, and cost, searchable by session or filter. Instrument with the Python or TypeScript SDK, the agent-native CLI, or any OpenTelemetry exporter, with ready integrations for LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, CrewAI, Vercel AI SDK, Mastra, and Pydantic AI. Detectors use LLM judges to score live traffic against the behavior you define and can post alerts to Slack. Judge outputs cluster into signals, then a background coding agent reads the traces and your connected GitHub code in a sandbox and recommends changes down to the commit, file, and line. Datasets, test cases, and scored eval runs compare versions so regressions surface before a release, and dashboards of widgets chart your trace data. The CLI hands your coding agent, such as Claude Code or Codex, the traces, signals, detectors, and evals to work from. Self-hosting keeps all of that trace data on infrastructure you control. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. Apache-2.0 licensed (core edition).

Benefits

  • See Every Model And Tool Call
  • Each run becomes a call tree showing inputs, outputs, latency, and cost for every model call and tool call, so slow steps, loops, and wasted tokens are easy to spot.
  • Catch Failures Before Users Report
  • Detectors use LLM judges to check live production runs against behavior you define, with optional Slack alerts when runs miss the mark.
  • Fixes Verified Before You Ship
  • Compare versions against your datasets with offline evals, so improvements are measured and regressions show up before a change reaches production.
  • Your Traces Stay On Your Servers
  • Self-hosting keeps prompts, outputs, and trace history in databases and storage you run, giving you full control over your data and deployment.

Features

  • Traces And Sessions
  • Browse, search, and filter every agent run as a full call tree, with inputs, outputs, timing, and cost recorded for each model call and tool call.
  • Detectors And Slack Alerts
  • LLM judges score production runs against behavior you define, using your own model API key, and raise findings with optional alerts to Slack.
  • Signals And Root-Cause Agent
  • Judge outputs cluster into signals, and a background coding agent investigates traces and connected GitHub code in a sandbox to recommend changes down to the line.
  • Evals And Datasets
  • Build datasets and test cases, run scored evals, and compare agent versions to measure improvements and catch regressions before they ship.
  • SDKs, CLI, And OpenTelemetry
  • Python and TypeScript SDKs, an agent-native CLI, and OpenTelemetry ingestion connect LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK, CrewAI, Vercel AI SDK, Mastra, Pydantic AI, and more.
  • Custom Dashboards
  • Build dashboards of widgets over your trace data to follow how your agents behave over time.
