Kanzo
Give your coding agents a board they can work, not just read: Kanzo is a self-hosted kanban board where you and your agents move the same tasks through the same columns at the same time. Tell an agent to take the next task and it moves the card to doing, comments as it works, and leaves the result where you can read it in the browser. Projects follow the code automatically: the agent finds the right board from the Git remote of the repository it is working in, and you can link more repositories to a project from its menu. Press n to add a task, search every project with a slash or Command-K, paste an image straight into a card or comment, and park half-formed ideas in an optional Backlog column that agents leave alone until you promote them. The whole board is one folder, and a private Git repository you own keeps it in step across a laptop, a desktop, and a Raspberry Pi, with conflicts resolved by choosing which side to keep. Statuses are yours to rename in the config file, the board exports cleanly to Markdown or JSON, and one click in the sidebar installs updates and restarts the service. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Agents Work Your Board Directly
- Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients take tasks, move cards to doing, and comment as they work, all against the same board you watch in the browser.
- One Folder, Synced By Git
- The board, its SQLite database, and settings live in one folder that a private Git repository keeps in step across every machine, with no account and no central server.
- Tiny Binary, Instant Start
- A roughly four-megabyte Rust binary starts in milliseconds, idles in a few megabytes of memory, and loads boards of thousands of tasks in the browser almost instantly.
- Keyboard First, Backlog Included
- Add tasks with one key, search all projects instantly, attach images by pasting them, and park ideas in an optional Backlog column that agents ignore until promoted.
Features
- Built-In MCP Server
- One binary serves the browser board and an MCP endpoint at /mcp, so Claude Code and Codex share live task state with you instead of synchronised copies.
- Git Remote Project Matching
- Agents find the right project from the Git remote of the repository they work in, and extra repositories link to a project from its board menu.
- Private Git Sync
- A private Git repository carries the whole board folder between machines, committing and pulling safely while the board and your agents keep running.
- Custom Statuses And Exports
- Rename the todo, doing, review, and done statuses in config.toml, then export the whole board or one project as Markdown or JSON whenever you need it.
- Service Mode With Updates
- Install Kanzo as a login service that stays running, let the sidebar offer new signed releases, and apply them with one click and an automatic restart.
