Jetlog
A personal flight logbook you host yourself, Jetlog draws every route you have flown on a pannable world map and turns the totals into charts. The home page opens with counts of flights, airports, hours, distance, and countries above that map, where dots mark visited airports and lines trace each trajectory. Settings let markers and lines grow with visit frequency and shade the countries where you have landed. Logging a flight takes only two airports and a date. Type a flight number and press Fetch to pre-fill the origin, destination, and airline, and a utility links connection flights automatically. Duration and distance are calculated for you and stay editable, with an option to use airport time zones. The All Flights table lists route, times, duration, distance, seat, class, and airline with filters and configurable columns, and each flight opens a detail page with airport data, a route map, tail number, and aircraft. A Statistics page charts flights per month, cumulative distance, most visited airports, most common airlines, ticket class, and seat for any time frame. History arrives through MyFlightRadar24 or custom CSV imports and leaves as CSV or iCal. Family members can share one install with separate logbooks, an admin manages the accounts, and the responsive layout works on a phone at the gate. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. GPL-2.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Your Whole Flight History Mapped
- A pannable world map plots visited airports as dots and routes as lines, with optional frequency-sized markers and highlighted countries, so years of travel become one clear picture.
- Statistics Without Spreadsheet Work
- The Statistics page charts flights per month, cumulative distance, most visited airports, most common airlines, ticket class, and seat, and filters narrow every chart to any date range.
- Your Data Stays On Your Server
- Logbooks live in a SQLite file on the container's data volume, logins use JWT tokens, and one environment variable switches off the external flight-lookup API entirely.
- Import Old Trips, Export Anytime
- Bring history in from MyFlightRadar24 or a custom CSV with ICAO airport codes, then export your own flights as CSV or iCal whenever you want a copy.
Features
- Interactive World Map
- Built on react-simple-maps with GeoJSON country shapes, the map shows visited airports as dots, flight trajectories as lines, and highlights countries where you landed.
- Flight Number Lookup
- Typing a flight number and pressing Fetch queries the adsbdb API to pre-fill origin, destination, and airline; external lookups can be disabled with ENABLE_EXTERNAL_APIS.
- Statistics And Filters
- Charts for monthly flights, cumulative kilometers, airports, airlines, ticket class, and seat respond to a time-frame filter, so any year or range can be reviewed separately.
- Multi-User Accounts
- JWT-based login supports several users with an admin role for user management, a default admin account to change on first login, and optional header-based SSO through AUTH_HEADER.
- CSV And iCal Exchange
- Import MyFlightRadar24 exports or a documented custom CSV with ICAO codes, then export each user's own flights as CSV or iCal for backups and calendar apps.
- Docker Deployment
- The pbogre/jetlog image supports linux/amd64 and linux/arm64, listens on port 3000, stores data under /data, and is configured with variables such as SECRET_KEY and JETLOG_BASE_URL.
