HomeHub

HomeHub gives a household one private page for the everyday coordination that usually scatters across chat threads, fridge notes, and five separate apps. Pin shared notes where everyone sees them, drop files into the shared cloud for the house, and keep one shopping list the whole family edits, with suggestions drawn from what you bought before. Chores become a shared checklist, the calendar holds the dates that matter, and a who's-home view answers the question every family group chat asks in the evening. The expense tracker follows family spending and handles recurring bills like the milk, the newspaper, and subscriptions, while the recipe book and expiry tracker keep the kitchen honest. Small utilities round it out: download media straight to the server, shorten URLs, compress PDFs, generate QR codes, and check the weather without leaving the hub. Every feature toggles on or off in one config file, themes recolor the interface, and there is no account system at all, because the hub trusts your home network instead of a password database. It runs happily on a Raspberry Pi, installs as a PWA on phones, and keeps uploads, media, and data in mounted folders you can back up with any file tool. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

Benefits

  • One Page For The Household
  • Notes, files, shopping, chores, calendar, and who's-home live behind one address on your network, so family coordination stops depending on whichever chat thread someone remembers to search.
  • Expenses With Recurring Bills
  • The tracker records everyday spending and models recurring charges like milk deliveries, newspapers, and subscriptions, giving the household a running picture of where the money goes each month.
  • No Accounts, No Cloud
  • There is no login and no external service: the hub trusts your local network, keeps data in mounted folders, and stays fully usable when the internet connection drops.
  • Toggles Instead Of Plugins
  • Every module switches on or off in a single YAML config, themes recolor the interface, and feature changes need a container restart rather than a plugin ecosystem to maintain.

Features

  • Shared Notes And Files
  • A notes board everyone at home can read and a shared cloud folder for uploads keep household information in one place on the local network.
  • Shopping With Suggestions
  • The collaborative shopping list learns from purchase history and suggests items as you type, so the weekly list mostly writes itself.
  • Expense And Recurring Tracking
  • Record spending by category and schedule recurring bills for milk, newspapers, or subscriptions; totals and history stay visible to the whole household.
  • Kitchen Toolkit Included
  • A recipe book, an expiry tracker for pantry items, and weather updates cover the daily kitchen questions without extra apps.
  • Pocket Utilities Built In
  • Download media to the server, shorten URLs, compress PDFs, and generate QR codes from the same hub, each module toggleable in config.
  • Calendar, Chores, Presence
  • A shared calendar with reminders, a chore checklist, and a who's-home view coordinate the people as well as the paperwork.
