Detailed information on RepoCloud’s pricing tiers and resource specifications

Resource Tiers Overview

RepoCloud offers flexible resource tiers designed to accommodate a wide range of applications and workloads. Each tier provides a balanced combination of CPU, RAM, and storage resources at a fraction of the cost of major cloud providers.

Resource Tiers

RepoCloud provides seven standard tiers. The product labels a tier by its specifications; this documentation numbers the tiers 1 to 7 by size so that pages can refer to them, and the numbers are the same as the options on the Scale Server page.

Tier RAM vCPU SSD Storage Hourly Price Monthly Price Availability
Tier 1 1 GB 1 20 GB $0.0042 $3.00 Container Apps only
Tier 2 2 GB 1 30 GB $0.0083 $6.00 Container + VPS
Tier 3 2 GB 2 40 GB $0.0125 $9.00 Container + VPS
Tier 4 4 GB 2 40 GB $0.0167 $12.00 Container + VPS
Tier 5 8 GB 4 80 GB $0.0333 $24.00 Container + VPS
Tier 6 16 GB 8 160 GB $0.0667 $48.00 Container + VPS
Tier 7 32 GB 16 320 GB $0.1333 $96.00 Container + VPS

The monthly price is the price of a 720-hour month. Billing deducts the hourly price each hour, so a full month comes to about the monthly figure.

The $3/month tier (1 GB RAM) is only available for Container Apps. VPS instances start at $6/month (2 GB RAM).

Data Transfer Allowance

Every instance includes a free allowance of outbound data transfer each calendar month. Data transfer in is free.

Tier RAM vCPU Free outbound data transfer per month
Tier 1 1 GB 1 1 TB
Tier 2 2 GB 1 2 TB
Tier 3 2 GB 2 3 TB
Tier 4 4 GB 2 4 TB
Tier 5 8 GB 4 6 TB
Tier 6 16 GB 8 8 TB
Tier 7 32 GB 16 10 TB

Beyond the allowance, outbound data transfer is billed at $0.10 per GB. A terabyte here is 1,024 GB. The allowance is counted per instance and starts again at the beginning of each calendar month. Only data that leaves your instance for the internet counts: traffic between the parts of your own project, such as an application and its database, is not counted. Container Apps and VPS Apps use the same allowances.

Balance Needed for VPS Apps

To deploy a VPS App your balance must be above $3.00. This applies to the dashboard, the AI deploy chat and the API. To create API or MCP keys, your account also needs at least one payment of $1 or more.

Technical Specifications

All resource tiers on RepoCloud include the following technical specifications:

Compute

  • CPU Type: Intel vCPUs

Storage

  • Storage Type: NVMe SSD for all tiers
  • Extra Storage: Container Apps with a fixed tier can add 10, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1,000 GB on the Scale Server page ($1, $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100 a month), which is $0.10 per GB per month
  • Backups: VPS Apps can take snapshots from the manage page. Container Apps have no RepoCloud backup: use your application’s built-in backup tools (e.g., n8n workflow exports, WordPress backup plugins) and export important data regularly

Networking

  • Network Speed: 1 Gbps connections
  • Bandwidth: Data transfer in is free; data transfer out is free up to the monthly allowance of your tier (see Data Transfer Allowance), then $0.10 per GB
  • SSL Support: Free SSL certificates included

Choosing the Right Tier

When selecting a resource tier, consider these factors:

Application Requirements

Different applications have different resource needs:

WordPress
  • Small Blog: Tier 1-2
  • Medium Site: Tier 3-4
  • Large Site: Tier 5+
  • WooCommerce: Tier 4+ (depending on product count)
Databases
  • Small Database: Tier 2-3
  • Medium Database: Tier 4-5
  • Large Database: Tier 6-7
Development Tools
  • Git Repositories: Tier 2-3
  • CI/CD Tools: Tier 3-5
  • Code Servers: Tier 3-4
Content Management
  • Small CMS: Tier 2-3
  • Medium CMS: Tier 3-4
  • Enterprise CMS: Tier 5+

Traffic Patterns

Consider your expected traffic patterns:

  • Low Traffic (< 10,000 visits/month): Tier 1-2
  • Medium Traffic (10,000-50,000 visits/month): Tier 3-4
  • High Traffic (50,000-200,000 visits/month): Tier 5-6
  • Very High Traffic (200,000+ visits/month): Tier 6-7

Data Processing Needs

Different data workloads require different resources:

  • Basic Data Storage: Tier 1-3
  • Data Analysis: Tier 4-5
  • Large Datasets: Tier 5-7
  • Real-time Processing: Tier 5-7

Moving Between Tiers

How your instance moves between tiers depends on the deployment type:

  • VPS Apps use fixed tiers exclusively. From the manage page you can resize to any tier whose disk is not smaller than your current one; a tier with a smaller disk is disabled because the disk cannot be shrunk.
  • Container Apps with autoscaling are billed at the tier that each hourly reading of memory and CPU maps to; nothing is resized and no action is needed. Fixed-tier Container Apps can be resized with Scale Server on the manage page.

If you are choosing a fixed tier, make sure your application can operate within its resources — an undersized tier may cause performance issues or failures. Every VPS App starts at 2 GB RAM (Tier 2, the smallest VPS tier), and the application you install may ask for more, so check its own documentation before you choose.

Autoscaling vs. Fixed Tiers

RepoCloud offers two approaches to resource allocation:

Fixed Tiers

  • Predictable Costs: Billed hourly at the tier’s price; a full month comes to about its monthly figure
  • Fixed Resources: The tier fixes how much memory and CPU the app can use
  • Simplicity: No need to monitor or manage scaling
  • Best For: VPS Apps and Container Apps with consistent resource needs
  • IPv4 Included: Every VPS instance includes a dedicated IPv4 address at no extra charge

Elastic Autoscaling (Container Apps Only)

  • Cost Efficiency: You are billed each hour for the tier that hour’s memory and CPU reading maps to
  • Room for Spikes: The app can use up to 16 GB of RAM and 4 cores at any moment, which absorbs spikes up to that ceiling
  • Best For: Container Apps with variable resource needs

For Container Apps with variable use, we recommend turning autoscaling on. It is a switch on the deploy page and it is off by default. VPS Apps use fixed tiers only — select a tier that meets the application’s minimum requirements.

Additional Resources

Beyond the base resource tiers, you can also add:

  • Extra SSD storage (Container Apps with a fixed tier, on the Scale Server page): $0.10 per GB per month, in steps of 10, 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 GB ($1, $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100 a month)
  • Data Transfer In: $0 per GB (free)
  • Data Transfer Out: free up to the monthly allowance of your tier (1 TB for Tier 1, scaling up to 10 TB for Tier 7), then $0.10 per GB
