Container Apps
Deploy hundreds of open-source applications in managed Docker containers with one click and optional autoscaling
Container App Deployment
Container Apps are the fastest way to get an application running on RepoCloud. Browse the marketplace, click Deploy, and your application is live in minutes — running in a managed Docker container with automatic SSL and optional autoscaling.
Container Apps run in managed Docker containers. You interact with your application through its web interface and the RepoCloud dashboard. There is no SSH or terminal access to the underlying server.
How It Works
Browse the Marketplace
Explore the RepoCloud marketplace of hundreds of pre-configured applications. Use search, categories, or browse to find what you need.
Click Deploy
Click on an application to view its details, features, and links to the developer’s documentation, then click Deploy Now.
Configure Your Deployment
Enter a project name and choose your resource allocation:
- Fixed tier — the default: select a specific tier (about $3 to $96 for a 720-hour month)
- Autoscaling — turn the autoscale switch on and the billed tier follows an hourly reading of the app’s usage
Fill in any application-specific settings (such as an admin email or password). Most apps have sensible defaults.
Launch
Click Deploy App. Deployment typically takes 3–7 minutes. Your app receives an HTTPS URL on an auto-generated subdomain.
What You Get
A Container App includes:
Automatic SSL
HTTPS for your app’s address and for a verified custom domain
Your Data Stays
A rebuild or update keeps your data, and a paused app keeps its data
Optional Autoscaling
The billed tier follows an hourly reading of the app’s memory and CPU use
One-Click Updates
Click Rebuild / Update to pull the latest version of the application. A confirmation window comes first, and your data is kept
Custom Domains
Add your own domain with two CNAME records. Not available for the OpenClaw container app
Dashboard Management
Edit environment variables, view logs and the usage chart, change the Docker image version, rename, pause, or delete — all from the web dashboard
Resource Tiers
Container Apps can use any of the seven standard tiers. Tier 1 is available for select applications. Monthly figures are nominal: the hourly price times 720 hours.
| Tier | RAM | vCPU | SSD | Hourly | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 1 GB | 1 | 20 GB | $0.0042 | $3 |
| Tier 2 | 2 GB | 1 | 30 GB | $0.0083 | $6 |
| Tier 3 | 2 GB | 2 | 40 GB | $0.0125 | $9 |
| Tier 4 | 4 GB | 2 | 40 GB | $0.0167 | $12 |
| Tier 5 | 8 GB | 4 | 80 GB | $0.0333 | $24 |
| Tier 6 | 16 GB | 8 | 160 GB | $0.0667 | $48 |
| Tier 7 | 32 GB | 16 | 320 GB | $0.1333 | $96 |
Additional NVMe SSD storage can be added from the Scale Server page after deployment, for $0.10 per GB per month.
Autoscaling is optional and off until you turn it on. When it is on, the billed tier follows an hourly reading of the app’s memory and CPU use: a lower reading bills a lower tier and a higher one a higher tier, up to Tier 6. A fixed tier bills the same hourly price every hour.
After Deployment
Once deployed, manage your Container App from the dashboard:
- Edit Environment Variables — customize application configuration
- Rebuild / Update — pull the latest version while keeping your data
- Edit Docker Image — pin a specific version tag
- View Logs — inspect application output for debugging
- Add Custom Domain — connect your own domain with two CNAME records (not for the OpenClaw container app)
- Pause Server — reduce billing to 25% of the tier price, with an extra SSD still billed in full (data preserved); resume any time
- Delete Server — permanently remove the instance and stop billing

Limitations
Container Apps are designed for simplicity. If you need any of the following, use a VPS App or AI Deploy instead:
- SSH or terminal access — not available on Container Apps
- Dedicated IPv4 address — Container Apps have no dedicated IPv4 address
- Root-level server configuration — firewall rules, system packages, cron jobs
- Snapshots — point-in-time disk backups are a VPS-only feature
- Power controls — Container Apps can be paused but not powered off/rebooted at the OS level
