Redlib
Redlib lets you read Reddit without an account, ads, or trackers, through a clean page served from a machine you control. Open any subreddit, user profile, or comment thread and the server fetches the content and relays every image and video itself, so your browser never talks to Reddit directly. Pages need no JavaScript, unless you opt in to HLS video playback with sound. Choose card, clean, or compact layouts, a wide interface, and one of more than a dozen themes, from Dracula and Nord to Gruvbox and Tokyo Night. Post and comment sorting, a search box scoped to the current subreddit, a wiki tab, and subreddit filters help you find and tame your feed. Subscriptions build a personal home page with no login. Spoilers and NSFW previews can be blurred or hidden, and an SFW-only mode blocks mature content for the whole instance. Optional RSS feeds let a feed reader follow subreddits. Links to removed posts open in a configurable undelete viewer. Operators set defaults through environment variables, add an instance banner, discourage search indexing, and route outbound traffic through an HTTP or SOCKS proxy. Settings live in a browser cookie and can be exported or imported between devices. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Browse Reddit Without Being Tracked
- Your server fetches every page and media file, and a strict content security policy blocks browser requests to Reddit, so ads and tracking scripts never reach your devices.
- Read Reddit With No Account
- Subreddits, user pages, comment threads, and search all work signed out, and subscriptions, filters, and display preferences are kept in a browser cookie instead of a Reddit profile.
- Tune The Look To Taste
- Pick card, clean, or compact layouts, switch on a wide interface, and choose from more than a dozen themes, with default sorts, blurred previews, and hidden scores set per visitor.
- Configure Everything Through Environment Variables
- One Docker image covers amd64, arm64, and armv7, and instance defaults, SFW-only mode, RSS, banners, and indexing rules all come from REDLIB variables, with optional HTTP or SOCKS proxy support.
Features
- Subreddit And User Pages
- Browse subreddits with hot, new, top, rising, and controversial sorting, open user profiles and comment threads, and read subreddit sidebars and wiki pages without signing in.
- Proxied Media Playback
- Images and videos stream through your server instead of loading from Reddit. Video with sound uses HLS playback, which stays off by default so pages remain JavaScript-free.
- Themes And Layouts
- More than a dozen themes, including Dracula, Nord, Gruvbox, and Tokyo Night, pair with card, clean, and compact layouts, a wide mode, and options to hide awards and scores.
- Content Controls And Filters
- Blur spoilers and NSFW previews, hide NSFW posts, filter out subreddits, and let operators enforce an SFW-only mode that removes mature content across the whole instance.
- RSS And Removed Posts
- Optional RSS feeds let a reader follow subreddits, and links to removed posts open in a configurable undelete frontend, which defaults to undelete.pullpush.io.
- Cookie-Based Preferences
- Theme, layout, subscriptions, and filters are saved in browser cookies, restorable through a link, and exportable with a Copy and Import tool, so no account is needed.
