Mitra

Mitra is a self-hosted calendar that puts your tasks on the same timeline as your events, so planning a week finally happens in one place instead of two. Drag across empty grid space to make an entry, drag it to move it, and stretch its edges to resize it. Tasks without a date sit in the Planning tab with a due date and an estimate until you drag them into the week. Subtasks and dependencies draw as lines between entries. Availability shading lays your working hours under the grid so double-booking becomes obvious before it happens. Keep calendars inside Mitra with no account behind them, or connect the ones you already use: CalDAV, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Notion, Todoist, and Tempo all sync both ways, and published feeds arrive as read-only subscriptions. Lists sort, filter, and change many entries at once. Files attach to entries, guests reply, reminders land as push notifications, and a command palette drives everything from the keyboard. Claude, Cursor, and other AI tools can read and plan your calendars over MCP. Eight languages, right-to-left layouts, light and dark themes, phone install, and OIDC sign-in for several people round it out. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • Events And Tasks Together
  • One grid carries meetings and to-dos side by side, so unscheduled work stops hiding in a separate app. You see when the week actually has room before promising anything new to anyone.
  • Your Existing Calendars, Two-Way
  • CalDAV, Google, Apple, Notion, Todoist, and Tempo sync in both directions, with changes appearing as they happen. Mitra is a layer over the calendars you keep, not another place to abandon them.
  • Everything In One Folder
  • The whole instance lives in a single ~/mitra folder on disk. Backing up that one directory with restic, Borg, or a snapshot captures calendars, accounts, sessions, attachments, and settings at once.
  • Private, Small, No Telemetry
  • One small container, a database you own, no telemetry, and no sign-up behind it. Add OIDC sign-in when several people share the instance and give every calendar its own color.

Features

  • One Timeline, Five Views
  • Week, month with endless scrolling, year, timeline, and table views share one grid. Drag to create, move, and resize entries, with overlapping entries clustering automatically.
  • Two-Way Sync Engine
  • CalDAV tasks and events, Google, Apple, Notion, Todoist, and Tempo sync both ways, and published calendar feeds subscribe read-only. Colours, sources, and visibility follow each calendar you connect.
  • Planning Tab And Availability
  • Undated tasks wait in Planning with due dates and estimates until dragged into the week. Availability shading marks working hours, and subtasks with dependencies render as connecting lines between entries.
  • Reminders And Guests
  • Push notification reminders, file attachments on entries, guest lists with replies, inline title editing, and duplication of entries across several days cover the daily details.
  • AI Connectors Over MCP
  • Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients can read and plan your calendars directly. Keyword search, a command palette, and keyboard shortcuts finish the surface.
