MIND
Unlike a calendar alert that rings on one phone, a MIND reminder reaches any of 100+ services, including email, Pushbullet, BlueSky, Cisco Webex Teams, and SMS gateways, from a self-hosted reminder app that you control. Normal reminders fire with second precision once or repeat every few days, once a year, on chosen weekdays, or on a custom cron schedule, while static reminders wait for a button press, so a single tap can tell the family that you are running late. Templates store colour, title, services, and text for fast creation, and the colour-coded library can be searched and sorted, with each reminder enabled, disabled, or tested on demand. Time zone changes, including daylight saving shifts, are accounted for, and sends that fail on a connection error are retried every two minutes until they succeed. Several users can share one instance: the admin panel handles accounts and registration, login lifetime, reverse-proxy URL prefix, debug logs, and scheduled database backups that can be exported and imported, and sign-in supports two-factor authentication. A documented REST API covers reminders, templates, notification services, and static triggers, and the web interface adapts to phone screens. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. GPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Notify any of 100+ platforms
- Apprise integration lets a single reminder reach several services at once, including email, Pushbullet, BlueSky, and SMS gateways, and a Test button confirms delivery before the real trigger.
- Repeat on any schedule
- Reminders run once, at intervals such as every five days or once a year, on chosen weekdays, or on a custom cron schedule, with second-precision delivery across time zones.
- Trigger alerts with one click
- Static reminders have no date or repetition; pressing Trigger sends a predefined message instantly, for example to tell family you are running late or to call an emergency team meeting.
- Share one install with others
- The admin panel supports multiple user accounts, optional open registration, configurable login lifetime, and scheduled database backups, so a household or small team can share a single instance.
Features
- Apprise Notification Engine
- Built on the Apprise library, with a searchable catalog of services, custom URLs, Apprise API support, and Apprise plugins that can be configured directly in the web interface.
- Cron and Interval Scheduling
- Interval, weekday, and cron-expression repeats are calculated with python-dateutil and cron-converter, with daylight saving shifts accounted for when time zones change.
- Templates and Static Reminders
- Reusable templates store colour, title, services, and text, while static reminders skip scheduling entirely and send only when someone presses Trigger in the library.
- Admin Panel and Backups
- Admin pages manage users, registration, login lifetime, host, port, URL prefix for reverse proxies, debug logs, and scheduled database backups that can be exported and imported.
- Flask and SQLite Backend
- A Flask 3 application served by waitress keeps all data in one SQLite database inside a Docker volume, which the admin panel can back up on a schedule.
- Documented REST API
- Endpoints cover reminders, templates, notification services, static-reminder triggers, users, logs, and database backups, so scripts can automate routine management tasks.
