Levelrail

Push to git, watch the deploy go live over HTTPS, and roll back in one click, all on servers you own: Levelrail is a self-hosted platform for running apps and databases without Kubernetes. Deploys start from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Gitea webhooks and build from a Dockerfile, Compose file, image, or framework preset such as Next.js, Go, React, or Spring Boot, with preview environments per pull request, canary and blue-green rollouts, approvals, and freezes. Embedded Caddy gives every app a domain with HTTPS: self-signed by default, Let's Encrypt with one toggle, a free sslip.io address when no domain exists, or your own uploaded certificate. Provision Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse, and more with scheduled backups that are re-downloaded and verified, Postgres point-in-time recovery, and password rotation. Metrics with deploy markers, searchable live logs, alerts, and a public status page need no separate monitoring stack. Roughly 360 one-click templates and a Cmd+K search across apps, databases, and nodes speed up daily work. Extra servers enroll with a one-time token and a reverse-dialed agent that needs no inbound ports. Sign in with passkeys, TOTP, OAuth from 20 providers, or OIDC, then scope access with IAM policies, encrypted secrets, and a tamper-evident audit log. A CLI, HTTP API, and MCP server let scripts and coding agents deploy and roll back. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. Apache-2.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • Deploy Safely And Roll Back Fast
  • Readiness-gated rollouts keep previous images pinned, so one click restores the last working release, and canary releases roll back automatically when errors appear.
  • Monitoring Without A Separate Stack
  • Per-node metrics every 15 seconds, searchable logs with live tail, deploy markers on charts, traces, and an alert inbox ship in the box, with no Grafana installation required.
  • Small Footprint On Small Servers
  • The control plane idled at about 200 MB of RAM and 1.5 percent of one CPU on a 2 vCPU, 8 GB test box, and a 1 vCPU, 1 GB server boots it.
  • Security Built Into Every Layer
  • Passkeys, TOTP, OAuth and OIDC sign-in, IAM allow and deny policies, envelope-encrypted secrets with key rotation, and a hash-chained audit log you can verify come standard.

Features

  • Git Push Deployments
  • Webhooks from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Gitea start deploys from Dockerfiles, Compose files, images, or framework presets, with preview environments per pull request.
  • Managed Databases With Backups
  • Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, KeyDB, Dragonfly, and ClickHouse come with scheduled backups that are re-downloaded and checksummed, Postgres point-in-time recovery, and password rotation.
  • Embedded Caddy HTTPS Ingress
  • Caddy terminates TLS with self-signed certificates by default, Let's Encrypt when enabled, free sslip.io addresses, uploaded certificates, and per-app abuse protection.
  • Reverse-Dialed Node Agents
  • Each node runs an agent that dials out over mTLS and talks to the Docker Engine API directly, so managed servers need no inbound ports or SSH access.
  • Template Catalog And Search
  • Around 360 one-click service templates and a Cmd+K palette search apps, databases, nodes, templates, and actions, filtered by what each user is permitted to do.
  • CLI, API, And MCP Server
  • The levelrail-cli command, an HTTP API, and an MCP server with scoped tokens let scripts and coding agents deploy, read logs, and roll back.
