HRConvert2
Stop pasting your files into ad-riddled online converters and handing strangers copies of your documents: HRConvert2 runs the whole conversion workshop on your own server instead. Drop a file onto the browser page and pick an output format from a catalogue of 488, covering documents, spreadsheets, presentations, ebooks, comics, images, audio, video, subtitles, and archives. Built-in OCR reads scanned PDFs and images and hands back editable text documents you can search and reuse. It converts 3D models and CAD drawings, renders OpenSCAD projects with their multi-file assemblies resolved, and can even build bootable ISO disk images for x86 and ARM machines from ordinary uploads. Live streams are captured and re-encoded straight from .m3u8 playlists, and every uploaded file can be virus-scanned with ClamAV before or after conversion. Finished files go back out through temporary share links that expire on their own, so sending a converted video to a client takes one click. Each visitor works in an isolated scratch space, files delete themselves when they age out, and nobody needs an account, ever. When traffic spikes, the server watches its own CPU and memory, throttles conversions, and spreads storage across disks so it stays upright. Three interfaces, seven color schemes, and 26 languages let each user shape the page to taste, and the whole thing runs happily on a Raspberry Pi with no database at all. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. GPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Convert almost any file
- One browser page converts 488 formats, from docx, epub, and heic to subtitles, CAD drawings, and 3D models, so a single self-hosted tool replaces a drawer of single-purpose converter websites.
- Nothing leaves your server
- Conversions run locally with no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, and no external connections. Visitor files sit in isolated scratch spaces and are automatically deleted as they age out.
- Sandboxed and virus scanned
- Every conversion executes inside a Bubblewrap sandbox that hides your filesystem from the tools doing the work, and uploads can be scanned automatically with ClamAV or scanCore before anyone downloads results.
- Stays up under load
- Resource-aware throttling caps conversions to the CPU and memory actually available, runaway jobs are terminated, and storage can spread across multiple disks in round-robin, least-active, or redundant layouts.
Features
- Bootable ISO builder
- Builds MBR, UEFI, and hybrid bootable ISO images from uploaded files for x86, x86-64, ARM32, and ARM64, with hash-pinned bootloaders verified before use.
- OCR built in
- Tesseract-powered optical character recognition turns scanned PDFs and images into editable, searchable documents in formats like docx, odt, and plain text.
- 3D and OpenSCAD rendering
- Converts obj, stl, dxf, collada, and ply models, and renders OpenSCAD projects including multi-file assemblies with include paths resolved automatically.
- Live stream capture
- Captures and re-encodes live streams directly from .m3u8 playlists, inspecting every fetch for SSRF risks before anything is downloaded to your server.
- Expiring share links
- Generates temporary links for converted files that expire together with the file, so recipients download results without accounts, inboxes full of attachments, or permanent URLs.
- 26 languages, three interfaces
- Ships Default, Wide, and Original interfaces with seven color schemes and 26 built-in languages, including full right-to-left support for Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Urdu.
