Flus

Flus is a calm feed reader, read-later app, and bookmarking space combined into one self-hosted reading home for the blogs, podcasts, video channels, and articles you follow. You follow sources through RSS, Atom, or JSON feeds and organize them into thematic streams, then let the Journal suggest what to read next from everything you follow at a pace you control. Links you want to keep move into collections where annotations and tags record why they mattered, and the to-read and already-read lists keep unfinished reading from silently disappearing. Collections, streams, and individual links can be shared publicly on your profile so others can follow them, or privately with specific collaborators, and everything interoperates through Atom feeds, Mastodon sharing, OPML import, full data export, and a developer API. A powerful search engine finds saved material later, tracking parameters are detected and stripped from URLs, and the installable web app plus browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome make saving a link a one-click habit from anywhere. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • Reader, Bookmarks, And Sharing Unified
  • Feed aggregation, read-later lists, and social bookmarking live in one application, so following sources, saving links, and publishing collections no longer require three separate services.
  • Reading At Your Own Pace
  • The Journal suggests links from followed sources without algorithmic pressure, and to-read and read lists track progress, making large subscription sets manageable instead of anxiety-inducing.
  • Collections You Can Publish
  • Saved links organize into annotated, tagged collections that can stay private, go public on your profile for followers, or be shared selectively with collaborators.
  • Open Data In And Out
  • OPML import, full data export, Atom feed sharing, Mastodon integration, and a developer API keep your library portable, with tracking parameters stripped from saved URLs automatically.

Features

  • Multi-Format Feed Following
  • Subscribes to RSS, Atom, and JSON feeds from blogs, podcasts, and video channels, organizing followed sources into thematic streams alongside shared Flus collections.
  • Journal Reading Suggestions
  • The Journal surfaces links from followed sources as reading suggestions, supported by to-read and links-read lists that preserve your place across a large subscription set.
  • Annotated Link Collections
  • Collections group saved links with personal annotations and tags, and each collection can be private, public on your profile, or shared with named collaborators.
  • Search And Tracker Stripping
  • Full-text search covers saved links and annotations, while ClearURLs-based detection identifies and removes tracking parameters from URLs before they enter your library.
  • Extensions And Installable App
  • Browser extensions for Firefox and Chrome, a bookmarklet, and an installable progressive web app make capturing links one click from desktop or phone.
