FitTrackee

Cyclists, runners, hikers, and kayakers can log every GPS route in FitTrackee, a workout tracker where each workout stays private until shared. Upload a GPX, FIT, KML, KMZ, or TCX file and the workout appears with a map and charts. Zip archives and manual entry work too. Charts plot speed or pace, elevation, heart rate, cadence, and power on one graph or several. Each workout holds 20 photos at most, and photos with GPS coordinates appear on the map. Twenty-seven sports are available, including cycling, running, kayaking, and swimrun. Shoes, bikes, and boards each tally distance, duration, and workouts, and sports can have default equipment. The dashboard shows a monthly chart and a calendar of workouts and records, and statistics group totals by day, week, month, year, or sport. Filters narrow the workouts list by date, sport, equipment, location and radius, distance, or speed, and results can be mapped. A global map plots workouts, filtered by date and sport. Workout data, charts, map, and photos each get a visibility setting: private, followers only, or public. Follow requests need approval by default, and unwanted users can be blocked. Comments accept limited Markdown, and the five latest public workouts publish as an Atom or RSS feed. Data export bundles an account's workouts and uploaded files. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • Your Routes Stay Private
  • Routes, photos, and workout data stay on your own server. Visibility can be private, followers-only, or public, set separately for workout data, chart analysis, and the map.
  • Understand Every Activity In Detail
  • Route maps and charts for speed or pace, elevation, heart rate, cadence, and power, plus ascent, calories, records, and segments, show how each ride or hike actually went.
  • Bring Files From Any Device
  • Upload GPX, FIT, KML, KMZ, and TCX files from phones, bike computers, and watches, or zip many together; third-party tools can also pull Garmin and Strava history.
  • Solo Logbook Or Shared Club
  • Run a single-user instance with registration off, or open it to friends with follow requests, comments, likes, notifications, moderation tools, and an admin-set account limit.

Features

  • Leaflet Route Maps
  • Each file-based workout opens on a Leaflet map using OpenStreetMap tiles by default, with fullscreen and reset controls, photo markers, and a heatmap for tennis and padel.
  • Chart.js Analysis Charts
  • Chart.js plots speed or pace, elevation, heart rate, cadence, and power on one chart or several, with zoom and reset controls for closer inspection.
  • Multi-Format File Parsing
  • gpxpy and fitdecode read GPX and FIT files, KML, KMZ, and TCX files convert to GPX, and zip archives can upload asynchronously through Dramatiq workers.
  • PostGIS-Enabled Database
  • FitTrackee requires PostgreSQL 14 or newer with the PostGIS extension, and uses SQLAlchemy, geoalchemy2, and GeoPandas to store and process geospatial workout data.
  • Docker Compose Deployment
  • Official Docker images (linux/amd64 tested, linux/arm64 also built) run the web app and Dramatiq workers from one image, with PostgreSQL, optional Redis, and migrations applied at startup.
  • OAuth 2.0 REST API
  • Authlib provides OAuth 2.0 authorization for a documented REST API covering workouts, statistics, equipment, comments, and users, with an ftcli command line for administration.
