Tome
Tome is a self-hosted ebook library that knows how you read, not just what you own, syncing your place between an e-reader and the browser while turning every session into statistics. Its TomeSync plugin for KOReader records time on page, pages turned, and device, then syncs positions bidirectionally and works fully offline, queuing sessions until you reconnect. Browse and bulk-download whole series from the e-reader menu, with stable book IDs keeping history intact when files change. Reading stats grow sharper the more you read: streaks, time-of-day heatmaps, pace, completion estimates, author affinity, and per-book breakdowns fill three insight tabs. The built-in reader opens EPUBs with themes and font controls, manga in page, spread, or webtoon scroll modes with RTL support, and PDFs directly. Volumes group into series with arcs and status badges, so a forty-volume saga reads as one story. Metadata arrives from Hardcover, Google Books, and OpenLibrary with a side-by-side diff and cover picker. A Bindery inbox reviews incoming files before they join the library, and the OPDS catalog serves KOReader, Panels, or any OPDS client with per-user PINs. Admin, member, and guest roles govern per-book visibility behind API tokens. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Reading Sync That Survives Files
- TomeSync resolves books to stable canonical IDs instead of file hashes, so editing metadata or re-downloading a title never orphans your place. Sessions queue offline and flush when the device reconnects.
- Statistics From Real Sessions
- Page-level session data from your e-reader powers streaks, heatmaps, reading pace, completion estimates, and series ladders. The numbers describe how you actually read, not how many files sit on disk.
- Series Treated As Stories
- Volumes group into series with arcs, progress per book, and ongoing, completed, or hiatus badges. Forty volumes of manga stop looking like forty unrelated files and start reading as one shelf.
- One Image, Nothing Else
- A single Docker image with SQLite inside needs no database server or external services. Mount books, data, and the Bindery inbox, open the setup wizard, and create the admin account in minutes.
Features
- TomeSync KOReader Plugin
- The custom plugin records sessions with page-level granularity, self-updates from the server, and browses or bulk-downloads series from the device menu, keys baked in.
- Three Built-In Readers
- EPUB renders with themes, font controls, and CFI position memory; CBZ and CBR stream pages in page, spread, or webtoon modes with RTL toggle; PDFs open directly.
- Metadata From Three Sources
- Hardcover, Google Books, and OpenLibrary results appear side by side in a diff view with a cover picker, so enriching a book means choosing between real candidates.
- OPDS Catalog With PINs
- The /opds/ catalog serves KOReader, Moon+ Reader, Panels, and any OPDS client, with per-user PINs. API tokens in tome_ bearer format cover every /api/ endpoint.
- Bindery Import Inbox
- Drop files into the Bindery folder, review pre-filled metadata, and accept titles, or enable scheduled auto-import with content-hash deduplication so duplicates never land twice.
